FAQ Answer #1
Not difficult at all! EcoTeach was founded by teachers, for teachers. We know exactly how much is on your plate, which is why we’ve developed a streamlined, stress-free planning process. From initial ideation to boarding the plane, our US-based team handles the heavy lifting, logistics, and paperwork, allowing you to focus on your students.
We believe every group is different. Unlike large corporate competitors that run cookie-cutter tours, every EcoTeach itinerary is built around your specific educational goals. Whether you want to focus on sea turtles or cultural visits in Costa Rica, marine biology in Belize, or ecology in the Galapagos, we tailor the experience to your students.
With EcoTeach, we'll never pair your group with other groups. You will always have your own guide and your own private transportation.
The human element is what makes EcoTeach truly special. Your students will be led by our bilingual deeply experienced local guides. Our guides aren't just tour leaders; they are educators, protectors, and local experts. Furthermore, our experienced in-country staff provides 24/7 support to ensure the highest safety standards are always met.
We partner with locally-owned lodges, family-run biological stations, and community-based projects. This ensures a safe, warm, "family feel" while keeping the economic benefits directly within the local communities we visit.
Yes, but strictly on the animals' terms! Animal welfare is our top priority. Students will participate in hands-on research—such as turtle research or hatchling releases—but only under the supervision of permitted local researchers. We strictly follow research protocols to ensure we never stress the wildlife or encourage unauthorized approaches.
Each trip itinerary details the hands-on work that is involved but feel free to contact us for more details.
EcoTeach is now part of SEE Turtles, a nonprofit wildlife conservation organiztion. That means travel with EcoTeach directly funds the front lines of conservation including protecting turtle nesting beaches, cleanin up plastic waste, fighting the illegal turtle trade, and supporting coastal communities.
By bringing your groups to places like Costa Rica, Belize, and the Galapagos, the profits will support community-led solutions. Profits from the average traveler helps save roughly 300 turtle hatchlings, cleans up 120 lbs of plastic, & more!
