How to Plan Your EcoTeach Trip

You know that look — the one where a student’s eyes light up because they finally get it. Now, imagine that moment happening while they’re standing on a moonlit beach in Costa Rica, helping a hatchling sea turtle reach the ocean for the first time.

At EcoTeach, we were founded by teachers, for teachers. We know that your "to-do" list is already a mile long, which is why we’ve spent 30 years perfecting a streamlined, stress-free process for getting your students into the field.

If you’re ready to move from lesson plans to flight plans, here is your 5-step roadmap to getting started.

1. Define Your Mission

Every EcoTeach trip is customized. It's help to think about your goals. Are you looking for a biology-heavy research expedition, a deep dive into Spanish language immersion, or a service-learning project that supports local communities? Knowing your "why" helps us build the "where."

2. Request Your Custom Quote

Visit our Custom Quote Page to tell us about your group. Whether you have a specific itinerary in mind or just a rough idea of your dates, this form gives our coordinators the info they need to build a draft itinerary and a transparent price point — including our Conservation Impact Pricing that shows exactly how your trip gives back.

3. Meet Your EcoTeach Partner

Once you’ve submitted your quote request, you’ll be paired with a program coordinator. Think of us as your logistical support. We’ll hop on a call to refine your itinerary, discuss safety protocols, and ensure the trip meets your school board’s requirements. We handle the accomodation, the transport, and the 24/7 in-country support so you can focus on the teaching.

4. Rally the Crew (Parents & Students)

We don’t just leave you with a flyer and wish you luck. We provide the resources you need to host a successful parent meeting. From safety FAQs to videos of our guides in action, we help you communicate the value of this "full-circle" experience to parents and students alike.

5. Pack Your Bags and Change the World

Once the deposits are in, the countdown begins! You’ll be assigned one of our legendary naturalist guides — like Pika or Frank — who will be with your group from the moment you land until the moment you head home. You aren't just taking a tour; you’re joining a 30-year legacy of educator-led conservation.

Ready to get started? The world is a big classroom — let’s go explore it.
