Interested in the EcoTeach experience but don’t have a group to travel with? Join us on a special trip for teachers, individuals or families. The destinations and projects are the same as for our student and group trips, but you’ll be joined by up to 15 other adventure seekers. Past participants have remarked that the chance to meet new friends with similar interests was one of the highlights of their trip!

Costa Rica
- Costa Rica Sea Turtle Volunteer Trips: March – July 2012, prices start at $999 land
Nine trip dates available during the heart of sea turtle nesting season. Travel to the Caribbean Coast and volunteer at our sea turtle conservation project. Patrol the beach in search of nesting sea turtles and hatchlings. You may also conduct population studies, tag turtles, transplant eggs to a protected area or release hatchlings into the ocean. This trip is open to travelers age 10 and over. Travelers age 10-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Costa Rica Trip for Educators: July 21-29, 2012, $1295/land
Whether you’re an educator who wants to preview a trip before traveling with students OR simply want an amazing learning expedition, this trip is for you! Each year, we offer a low price on an educator trip packed with hands-on field study and volunteer work. Work with local community members on a sea turtle project, learn about the rainforest firsthand as you interact with scientists at Veragua Rainforest Adventure and Research Park, and visit Arenal Volcano National Park and view one of the most active volcanoes in the world!
- Costa Rica Family Adventure – Ocean to Volcano: June 13-22, 2012, $1650/land
Spend several nights at a sea turtle project on the Osa Peninsula where you’ll assist with in-water monitoring and tagging of turtles and participate in reforestation and mangrove clean up. Have a chance to spot wildlife in the rain forest and in the mist of the cloud forest. Visit a coffee co-op, hike on old lava beds in Arenal Volcano National Park, tour an organic farm and fly through the air on a canopy zipline tour.
Peru
- Amazon Rainforest Expedition for Educators: June 29 – July 8, 2012, $1950/land
Stay at Explorama Lodge in the heart of the Amazon and have the opportunity to go birding in an area with 600+ species of birds. Participate in rainforest walks, visit culture and craft fairs, travel by boat down the Amazon watching for wildlife, tour a botanical garden and spend a day at the Amazon Conservatory of Tropical Studies.
